Spreading the word of God through His people.
Hello! Thanks for visiting my missions page. This year, I am going to the Navajo Nation, in New Mexico. We will be doing construction work, hosting a Vacation Bible School, and connect to local families. My financial need is $1600, and will be used towards, travel, housing, food, and supplies for the trip. Every contribution counts, and prayer is great for spiritual support. You can donate by clicking the "Donate" button on the right. Here is some more extra information about the Navajo Nation:
The Navajo Nation is not just a reservation; it is a Sovereign Nation within the United States, and is home to approximately 250,000 Navajo people. The Navajo land is spread across the states of New Mexico, Arizona, Utah and Colorado and covers an area totaling 16,000,000 acres. Since the early 1970’s, drought has been prevalent, many Navajo communities suffer from a high rate of unemployment and few opportunities available to youth. Many Navajo communities lack the necessary resources to initiate positive social change or to generate a healthy local economy. Even when resources are available, the need for training and support in utilizing resources often stifles attempts at growth and advancement. In 2001, World Servants teams began working with Pete Belon of Cornerstone Ministries and several local Navajo churches to provide facilities such as community centers and tutoring halls for the Navajo youth. We will have the opportuity to minister through outreach activities such as hosting a Kids Club, home visits to local Navajo homes to learn about family life on the reservation and the culture of the Navajo Nation, a community-wide celebration with a barbeque, face painting and games, and an opportunity to worship within the community with a local congregation. We will also have the opportunity to meet physical needs through construction and renovation projects. Thank you all for your support!
